The Pastorate of Union Chapel Kington Langley Chippenham Wiltshire will shortly be vacant. The Chapel has a long history as a centre for Bible based teaching in belief and practice.
We are looking for a man who has a heart for Village ministry, life and outreach and who loves the Lord and His word. We need someone who will be involved in the village and would seek to be known and trusted by the local people, and who will give input into the local primary school. We are a small Fellowship of like-minded believers who love the Lord and who want to move forward together in church growth, outreach and Biblical teaching and preaching. We hold a morning service each Sunday as well as a weekly coffee morning called "Rendezvous". We also desire to re-establish a weekly Bible study/ Prayer meeting. The pastor would be responsible for about 40 Sunday services a year and would be actively involved with Rendezvous, Bible study/ Prayer meeting and outreach. A rent - free 3 bed house, The Manse, is available with gardens front and rear. Household utilities are paid by the Chapel but no stipend is available. The pastor and family would need to be financially self sufficient. The bus service is irregular so being a car owner would be advised. Secondary schools are linked to the Village by a bus service. We have a friendly relationship with St.Peter's, the village Anglican Church, joining them for occasional services.
